Frequently Ask Questions
Can I run instead of walk?
Of course! We know that some people might even run the course twice! Please join in as you’re able… walk, run or you might prefer to watch from the event hub.
How do I share my fundraising page?
When you view your page, you will see a ‘Share’ button alongside the usual ‘Donate’ button.
When you click on ‘Share’, you will see various options to share via Facebook, SMS, Email or to copy the link.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes! Donations over $2 are tax-deductible. Your friends and family can donate any amount they like to support you. Remember… every $25 will change the future for a vulnerable child.

Who’s organising Walk My Way?
-
Walk My Way is an initiative of ALWS (Australian Lutheran World Service), an accredited Overseas Aid and Development Agency. You can find out more about ALWS here.
Can children participate in the walk?
-
Yes! We always love to see children of all ages (and their families!) participate in our Walk My Way events.
The Community Hub at each event will include activities for children and the opportunity to learn more about the vulnerable children they’re stepping out to support.
Please note that we do not provide supervision for children at our Walk My Way events and parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times. We also require children under 12 to walk with an adult/guardian.
What is included in my ticket?
-
Your ticket price includes your involvement on beautiful, mapped walking course (3km, 12km etc). You’ll also receive a walker number and a special Walk My Way 75th Anniversary t–shirt at the event check–in.
Your ticket price also assists in covering the cost of course marshals and first–aid providers, live entertainment and food stalls at the Community Hub, including activities for children in the Kids Zone.
What happens after my walk?
-
We invite you to enjoy the Community Hub after you’ve completed your walk. You might like to sit down and enjoy the live performances on the stage. You could also browse trade stalls and purchase some food to celebrate your walk success.
